A rare collectors piece necklace by Mitchel Maer for Christian Dior from 1950. A turquoise glass fringe decorating florettes of glass rubies and glass pearls with a chain of moonstone effect stones. Silver toned costume metal.

It measures 1.75 inches high, x0.75 inches deep x15 inches long/ 4 cm high x2 cm deep x38 cm long. Centre drop is 1 3/4 inches.

A very similar necklace is featured in the book 'Costume Jewelry for Haute Couture' by Florence Muller 2006 p194.
