Egyptian Style Bib Gold Necklace by Alexis Kirk
A collectable gilt metal bib necklace in Egyptian/ Etruscan style by Alexis Kirk. A limited number of these necklaces were made in 1970; the original was designed for The Duchess of Windsor, Wallace Simpson. When asked what she thought of costume jewellery The Duchess replied, ''I hate to admit it but I am absolutely fascinated by fake jewellery at the moment; I think it is so good.'' Our necklace is not the exact one she owned.
We have the matching earrings available in a separate listing.
It measures 16-18 inches around the neck with adjustable chain.
The centre section is 9.7cm in height/ drop. The left and right section are 3.6cm at the widest lower point. There is a little wear to the guilding behind and on the jump rings where movement has occurred between sections but nothing so noticeable when worn.
